about usThe RNZAF Base Auckland Aviation Sports Club Inc. (ASC) was formed in 1966. The ASC Power Section was primarily set up to encourage service personnel to actively participate in powered flying activities. This still remains the club's primary aim. We focus on providing flying facilities for those who are currently serving or have served previously in the New Zealand Defence Force, Police or Air Training Corps (ATC). We do also periodically accept applications from civilians to join our club, however, we are currently not accepting civilian applications. The club operates a variety of aircraft, providing a great range for our members to choose from as well as experienced instructors from a range of both civilian and military backgrounds allowing us to provide high quality flight training. The club also organises and hosts flying events and trips providing many exciting opportunities for our members to get involved with the club and to travel around New Zealand. |
Being based at Whenuapai, we have access to a unique set of facilities which help make flying at the club a great experience for our members. As an Air Force club we are, however, obliged to abide by all air force regulations and rules on RNZAF Base Auckland (Whenuapai) which does include restrictions on civilian members. Overall, the RNZAF Base Auckland Aviation Sports Club (Power Section) is a great place to learn to fly, gain your wings or get out and about in our aircraft and enjoy the wonders of flight and of course, New Zealand. |
Our PrinciplesProactive flight safety approach and an open relaxed atmosphere so all members can enjoy their time at the club. Our StandardsOur standards are very high, from flying training, aircraft maintenance, club facilities to the atmosphere you will experience whilst at the ASC. |
