The RNZAF Base Auckland Aviation Sports Club (ASC) was formed in 1966. The Whenuapai ASC Power Section was primarily set up to encourage service personnel to actively participate in powered flying activities. This still remains the club's primary aim. We focus on providing flying facilities for those who are currently serving or have served previously in the New Zealand Defence Force, Foreign Nations Service, Police, Rescue Services, or Air Training Corps (ATC).
We also accept applications to join our club, from a limited number of civilians as our resources permit. The club operates a variety of aircraft, as well as providing experienced instructors from a range of both civilian and military backgrounds, allowing us to provide high quality flight training. The club also organises and hosts flying events and trips, providing many exciting opportunities for our members to get involved with the club and to travel around New Zealand.
